1) Healees - In Your Cave 

  

New single from Paris, France shoegaze / dreampop band 

Healees formed in 2015 when Bryan Quinn and Renaud Chauré met and realised they shared a strong interest for guitar pedals and new wave bands. They were joined soon after by Hillevi Robertsson (bass guitar) and Arthur Chen (drums), self-releasing the ‘Heal’s Beals’ demo in 2018. This Paris-based Breton/American/Swedish/Belgian four-piece developed a beautiful shoegaze-tinted noisy pop. Their track The Garden was one of the highlights of the ‘Stratigraphy’ compilation released by Hidden Bay in late 2020. We’re now super proud to share their self-titled (and copious) debut EP!

 News from Italy dreampop / shoegaze band 

Formed in 2019, their dreamy yet immediate sound gravitates around the songwriting partnership of Francesco Brancato and Francesco Negri, complemented by the intense rhythm section by drummer Simone Bertuccio and bassist Mattia Brancato. The second EP from Milan based Ex Girls lies in a sonic territory of unorthodox chords and unrelenting snare beats, crossing genre conventions and defying purists' know how. 1) Coming Up Roses - Everything Is

 

News from dreampop / shoegaze band from Singapore 

Weaving their songs out of their adolescent experiences, alt-rock/shoegaze quartet Coming Up Roses balances the worlds of child-like innocence and idealism with the revelations that come with adulthood. Combining elements of pop, grunge, heavy-metal and shoegaze, the band manifests their emotions through the use of evocative vocal melodies and expansive sonic textures. 

 3 years on from their debut release ‘Waters’ - and facing the recent departure of their drummer Bruce Tan and the complete upheaval of the pandemic - Coming Up Roses release their long-awaited sophomore EP ‘Everything Is’. Taking these shared experiences into account, the alt-rock trio cathartically distil the emotional rollercoaster of the past 3 years into 4 stage-ready songs, from the Sundays-inspired jangle of ‘Glass Stained Eyes’ to the wall-of-sound guitars on closer ‘Would You Ever’. Frontwoman Emily Sera shares: “‘Everything Is’ is a compilation of songs that reflect on our exploration of ourselves and the world around us.

The debut self-titled EP and singles wmd and grind coalesce to define the group’s artistic direction: a blend of 90’s alternative and modern shoegaze. Trauma Ray’s live performances push listeners up against a wall of ear-piercing fuzz and reverb while swirling them into a trance of self reflection. from the “Cities of the Plain” LP (3/6/2022 All songs written and recorded by Tom Weir as Old Moon All songs mixed by Shaun Durkan All songs mastered by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studios Art by Coward's Way Old Moon is the solo project of New Hampshire based musician Tom Weir. Weir seamlessly blends elements of post-punk, classic indie, and shoegaze to create a sound that is immediately familiar without falling prey to genre tropes. 

Weir began recording music as Old Moon in the winter of 2019 and has since put out multiple acclaimed releases including the EP Past Lives, his debut album Altars, and the compilation tape Dreamer, Sleeper. Where Old Moon’s debut LP Altars was a descent into a swirling, gloomy world; his forthcoming Cities of the Plain exists in the clear light of day where guitars chime brightly behind Weir’s introspective vocals. Cities of the Plain was written and recorded by Tom Weir with additional drum engineering from Todd Whitehead at Up North Studios. The album was mixed by Shaun Durkan (Soft Kill, Weekend) and mastered by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studios. “‘Soma’ is a move towards a cleaner, brighter Old Moon sound and the first song that I wrote after finishing up my previous record Altars last year,” says Weir. “It’s about trying to find a path forward even when the future is unclear and about weeding out the things in my life that were dragging me down. I worked with Shaun Durkan again for the mix on this song, and I love the way it came out so differently than the songs on Altars while still occupying a similar sonic space.”
