Noise rocková dvojka No Age z LA nám tento týden naděluje nový singl. Co jsem koukal do historie mých Singlů týdne, tak naposledy zde tato kapela zabodovala koncem listopadu 2010 skladbou Fever Dreaming, když získala stříbro. Ta mimochodem vyšla na jejich druhé desce Everything in Between, to poslední An Object je staré zhruba 3 roky. Randy Randall & Dean Spunt tento pátek dávají do placu 2 pecky Separation / Serf to Serf. Ty jsou k dispozici digitálně a k mání je také 7" vinyl.

Kapela Colour Of Spring hrající od roku 2014, má tento týden venku zbrusu nový singl. Tato zasněnější kytarovka pochází z Leedsu a zde již jednou slízla bronz za kazetový singl Honey / Skin z února loňského roku. Jejich druhý letošní singl po Pillow (5/2) se jmenuje Snow a vychází opět u Swirly Records.

Singles of the Week (37/16)

1) Communions - Don't Hold Anything Back / Eternity



Dánská post punková scéna je již několik let zárukou kvality (Iceage, The Foreign Resort, Metro Cult, Yung, Lowly, Shiny Darkly, John Alcabean...). Communions nejsou v této pravidelné rubrice žádnými nováčky, jelikož získali v roce 2014 stříbro za singl So Long Sun a poté loni za eponymní EP bronz. Tato čtveřice existuje od roku 2013 a jejich hlavním tahákem jsou líbivé vokály a smysl pro melodičnost. Nový singl Don't Hold Anything Back / Eternity mě sice až tak neoslovil jako jejich předešlá tvorba, ovšem při těžkém výběru komu nakonec udělit zlato jsem se rozhodl takto. Obě skladby vyšly již koncem srpna digitálně, tento týden je k dispozici 7" vinyl.

1) Butterfly Child - A Shot In the Dark



4 roky zpět kraloval v této pravidelné rubrice, Joe Cassidy alias Butterfly Child s výbornou No Longer Living in Your Shadow. Začátky tohoto zkušeného interpreta spadají do roku 1991, kdy svět spatřil EP Tooth. Vynikající singl Flaming Burlesque z roku 1995 se ocitnul mimojiné na jeho albu The Honeymoon Suite. Minulý rok Joe vydal u Dell'Orso Records povedené album Futures, které se také umístilo v mé Best of Albums na 18 místě. Zbrusu nový materiál se jmenuje A Shot In the Dark a obsahuje celkem 5 zasněných krásných písní.

1) The Foreign Resort - The Foreign Resort



Dánská post punková kapela The Foreign Resort, tento týden oživila své úspěšné eponymní EP z roku 2011. Toto trio jinak vyhrálo v této pravidelné rubrice již jednou zlato z loňského roku s EP The American Dream s povedenou Under Bright Neon Stars. Zajímavý nápad vydat své dílo i na vinylu za přispění jejich fanoušků se povedl a kapela vybrala obnos, který stačil na znovuvydání tohoto pět let starého materiálu. V době vydání jsem EP zaregistroval až o pár týdnů později, proto jsem mu nemohl udělit medaili. Kousky jako Take a Walk či Orange Glow rozhodně stojí za to, takže za jedna!
