Mé oblíbené trio z Toronta, METZ hodilo na youtube nové video Drained Lake z jejich aktuální desky Strange Peace. Tento singl sice získal začátkem srpna stříbro, ovšem já si myslím že druhé letošní zlato po předchozím Cellophane si zaslouží. Jejich těžkou porci noise rocku si můžete vychutnat již příští týden ve čtvrtek ve Futurum ve společnosti Protomartyr!

Singles of the Week (42/17)

1) Iris Jupiter / Fk Mt.



Zajímavé splitko emo indie punk kapel z jížní Karolíny Iris Jupiter + Fk Mt. vychází tento pátek. Ta první parta mi stále visí v Top 5 letošních desek se svým eponymním albem. Jejich první nahrávky pocházejí z loňska, především EP Zero Cool a poté singl Life Pile. Docela bych tuto trojku chtěl vidět naživo, zde najdete dvě pecky Riff Jockey + Buzzcut. Další kapela s názvem Fk Mt. má své skladby o něco starší. Debut EP Suppy pochází z roku 2013, to zatím poslední Fertilizer je z letopočtu 2015. Na tomto splitku si můžete vychutnat vály SAD + Take It Slower, vše vychází pod dohledem Open Door Records na limitovaném sedmipalci.

Je to skoro rok, co zde získala zlato dvojice z Los Angeles No Age za singl Separation / Serf to Serf. Randy & Dean, kteří jedou na vlně punku a noise rocku nám tento týden představují novou pecku. Soft Collar Fad jinak nebude chybět na čtvrté řadovce pod názvem Snares Like a Haircut, která vyjde oficiálně až příští rok 28/1 pod labelem Drag City.

1) Surf Rock is Dead - We Have No Friends?



Duo Surf Rock is Dead a jejich roztomilý zasněný surf pop má již dlouho naplánovaný nový materiál. Kevin Pariso + Joel Witenberg vše odstartovali v prosinci 2014 mým oblíbeným singlem Equinox. Poté následovalo debut EP SRiD (2015) a singl In Between, který zde získal bronz v 48 týdnu loňského roku. Ten je také součástí aktuálního EP We Have No Friends? vydaného u The Native Sound Records. Tento 12" vinyl obsahuje 5 skladeb, z něj byly předtím k mání ještě singly As If (rovněž bronz z letošního srpna) a Everything They Said.
