Whether it's a paying job or just the thing you pour yourself into, having a direction to move in, finding a flow state, it can move focus away from the heaviness of the heart. So after life's losses, in moments of despair, we resolve time and time again to dive headfirst into the work as best we can. But the artistic process also tends to be when imposter syndrome rears its ugly head - when I find my inner monologue spiraling: ‘this is the best coping mechanism I have at my disposal and I'm not even qualified to be doing it.’

Highspire are back with their first release in 15 years with the “Gloria" 7” single. 

 

Formed in 1999 Philadelphia, this latest incarnation sees the constant duo of Alex White & EJ Hagen joined by Laura Watling of Tears Run Rings, original drummer Guyton Sanders, and John Loring of Fleeting Joys. The 7” is a limited pressing for first single “Gloria" off their upcoming album on Shelflife Records. Also included are two songs, “Drifting” and “Pray,” that are exclusive to the single. As a special bonus, one copy of the 7" will include a ticket to win a vinyl test pressing of the new album and three copies include a ticket to win the CD version of the album.
