5) Laveda - Ghost
Dream Pop force Laveda awaken nostalgic moods in their sound, drawing heavily from 90s Shoegaze and Experimental Rock. Formed in the summer of 2017, the bedroom recording project was founded by Ali Genevich (vocals, guitar) and Jake Brooks (guitar, vocals, synths). Having rapidly developed over the past year, the duo has made huge growth morphing their songs from simplistic Singer-Songwriter styles into an overwhelming and full-fledged listening experience. The now 4-piece band consisting of new members Joe Taurone (drums) and Dan Paoletti (bass, synths) just completed their first tour of the Northeastern US and Canada in August and dropped their second single "Better Now" on August 16th. The track has since been featured on Spotify's Indie Pop playlist, featured on bandcamp's New and Notable section, and has captured the attention of both national and international audiences.
The release of “Ghost” also marks the official announcement for Laveda’s debut album, What Happens After, releasing on vinyl on April 24th.
