3) Lorelei - Pale

Lorelei is the project of Claudia Schmidt and Arlen McCarthy. Coming from two distinct worlds, Lorelei exists somewhere in the middle, a swirling current of dark dream-pop.

I only want you, my feet back on the ground
You whisper to me, in you home I have found
But sirens call me, afraid to run aground
I lose myself and hope I am found

So now, I turn my head at the gate
So now, forever I hesitate
Still now, I turn my head at the gate
Always, I’m only calling your

My fortune empty, these things that come undone
In halls I wander, my footsteps echo out
Still I am haunted, I hold the memory
Forever unknown, what could have been

So now, I turn my head at the gate
So now, forever I hesitate
Still now, I turn my head at the gate
Always, I’m only calling your name

5) Nest Egg - Dislocation

Noise rock trio from Asheville, NC
Harvey Leisure
Ross Gentry
Thom Staton

Nest Egg has already made a name for themselves with their amazing fog-heavy, zoned and honed live show. Warping minds and winning fans with their heady, atmospheric take on progressive, ethereal vibed-out rock music. Psychedelic when the mood turns mellow, but driving when they hit the gas and float the cosmic flux. On Respectable, Nest Egg put their talent upfront, weaving in and out of time and space, with a heavy control of their dynamic. This is music for finding your way through the galaxy, with the intent of never coming back. Fervent energy flows through the instruments to divine output. For all of its movement, repetition, and delay, this is a sound that never loses focus, it never slides back, and it stays in the forefront for the duration demonstrating an immense level of talent at controlling the vibe.

The Acid Test Recordings and Little Cloud Records are proud to present: Dislocation, the new album from Nest Egg. ‘Dislocation’ carries on where ‘Nothingness Is Not A Curse’ left off, only more so. 6 more humming tracks of cacophony. Nest Egg’s music builds, ebbing and flowing, searching for its own space. Peaks and troughs, lefts and rights, highs and lows, noise and silence.

Nest Egg deals in Krautrock wizardry. Songs are built upon repetition and drone, all sheltered within a hive of buzzsaw guitars and analogue synths. No sound is wasted, space is the place, songs will evolve and grow for as long as they need to. There is organisation in chaos. ‘Mood music for nihilists’ indeed.
