2) A.J. Vega - Anti-Loss

News from New Jersey noise-pop / emo / indie-rock Alice Jane Vega...

This is a brief collection of songs I wrote throughout 2023, a year which would prove to be one of the biggest emotional rollercoasters of my life. These three songs are but three vignettes that illustrate and document things I went through, be it in meatspace, on the internet, or in my own mind. The title is a reference to the overblown, heavily distorted production of these tracks. I plugged in my guitar directly into my interface and maxed out the input gain. The harsh, blown-out, treble-heavy noise it made served as the driving force for the EP's sound. As with practically everything I've ever made, I've had mixed feelings on these songs as they were worked on. I was afraid of following up my debut single, Bunnydeath, with something that was of lesser quality. However, listening through to the EP while looking at the art Travis drew for it, I knew it was meant to be. I hope you give these songs a shot, and hopefully you'll agree. All songs written and performed by Alice Jane Vega Additional production on "Next to Me" by POLYANA Ukulele on "Pieces of the Sun" by Lahire Mixed by POLYANA Artwork by masheddoq Photography by Alice Jane Vega Special thanks to Kay, Okay Thanks for his critical ear that helped let these songs be the best they could be. Thank you as always to Claire, Jay and Abby for their support.

3) Oliver Beardmore - Dead Oceans

News from Birmingham, UK dreampop / shoegaze...

Oliver’s new direction defines a sonic palate which places him at the end of a more avant-garde lineage: inspired sonically by shoegaze and dream pop royalty My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive but with a melodic sensibility more akin to Lorde and Mazzy Star.

5) Trinket - New Hobby

News from Brooklyn, New York jangle pop / indie-rock band...

The songs from this EP all came about as my first few songs writing for a band. I started writing these songs around summer 2021. I had just gotten fired from a really terrible job, and was unemployed and really had time to throw my all into Trinket. Having that time to work on this band and record these songs felt like such a gift, and gave me the opportunity to really learn how to write, record songs, and manage my own band.
