1) Thyla - Everything At Once
Kapela Thyla z anglického města Brighton má tento týden novinku v podobě EP. Debutový singl jinak vyšel v roce 2017 v květnu pod názvem Ferris Wheels, poté následoval v témže roce Pristine Dream a Tell Each Other Lies. Před rokem bylo venku první EP What's on Your Mind s pěti skladbami a zde je tu tedy další Everything At Once. To obsahuje opět příjemné indie dream popové skladby s vokálem Millie Duthie: Two Sense, Lenox Hill, December, Everything.

2) My Bus - Elvis and Me (Joe Cassidy (Butterfly Child) + Gary McKendry (Papa Sprain)
My Bus are Joe Cassidy and Gary McKendry. As Butterfly Child and Papa Sprain respectively they were restless parallel adventurers in the early days of UK dream-pop. The released EPs for AR Kane’s label H.ark! and them for Rough Trade. They blazed radical trails for music, burned bright and then faded away. Now they have combined to form My Bus. Our Life In The Desert became is of the richest and most emotional dream-pop entities of any era. They combine Gary's love of dissonance and Joe's love of melody/composition. It is a deeply nostalgic record born out of love and a friendship across decades. The lyrics range from direct to oblique as the music spans oceanic drift (Moon Tempo), full-on drama (Elvis and Me), simmering poptones (Tomorrow Will Be Ours) and the stirring, multi-faceted Goose Pimples Forever, rescued by the wonders of technology from an ancient disintegrating My Bus cassette. On the exquisite, haunting Angeles, spoken words matched to one of his more restful ambient pieces. "It's an idea of confusion and uncertainty," says Gary ("Our minds contemplating the paltry limits of the conditional to my mind thoughts are only for preparing an entrance and an exit"). Our Life In The Desert is released on Onomatopoeia Records, run by Nick Bourne, a Butterfly Child fan who had previously connected with Joe on Facebook, which "completes another circle," says Joe. Likewise, Gary and Joe's decision to donate proceeds from the album to a mental health charity. Proof, then, that even in a desert, life can flourish.

4) Toodles & the Hectic Pity - Ghosts, Guilt & Grandparents
Toodles and The Hectic Pity are a beloved folk-infused punk band from Bristol who have been making music together through the first half of their 20’s. Toodles write snappy, percussive punk songs with rich vocal melodies. Their lyrics are crafted with subtle literary hints and playful turns of phrase, tucking existential themes into catchy refrains that cry for sing-a-long. Far from pretentious, their live show is full of contagious energy and enthusiasm. Lyrically, Ghost, Guilt and Grandparents is an exploration of loneliness, anxiety, and the nature of familial relationships through time. Despite handling heavy themes, the five song EP is uplifting, carrying you through irresistible, pop riffs and into the beautiful, long build intro of Mountain Man, the EP’s closing track.

I Break Horses is the musical project led by Maria Lindén. From her Stockholm base, the Swedish artist delivered an extraordinary debut album in the shape of ‘Hearts’, released by Bella Union in August 2011.
Hey, it's been a while since the last album. Some of you might say it's taken ages, others might not have been giving it much thought at all. Time is a slippery bastard. However, I needed time to focus on what I really wanted. And that was to create the most intimate and sincere songs I felt I had in me. And I wanted to give them to you. So this one is for all of you out there who have ever shown your appreciation for my music. If you have ever expressed your love in any of the channels, have been part of the audience at one of our live shows, or ever downloaded one of my tracks to help you get through the day. I have been away for a while. But I was never really gone. And I will stay with you forever (facebook).
