1) Squint - Wash Away

  

News from St. Louis, Missouri hardcore-punk band... 

Following their debut EP released earlier this spring...

Squint is swiftly back with their follow-up, “Wash Away”. The two pair nicely together, where “Feel it” is much more driving and abrasive, “Wash Away” leans more into the poppier sound influenced by ‘90s DIY indie-rock from bands like Superchunk, Archers of Loaf, and Dinosaur Jr. While “Wash Away” still does a great job of displaying Squint’s angsty, melodic hardcore heard on their debut, this batch of songs sound more upbeat with guitar melodies acting almost as backup vocals for Brennan to shout with. Again, Squint has carved their own path in this modern age of melodic hardcore with a unique rhythm to easily get stuck on repeat.
